    JOB TITLE:           Physical Therapy Team Leader, Related Services - This position is part-time, two days per week and working on Monday is required. (FTE - 0.4)

    SCHEDULE:          Part Time position (FTE - 0.4)

    REPORTS TO:       Supervisor, Related Services, Special Education

     
    DEFINITION:        Supports the educational service delivery of physical therapy in the Least Restrictive environment through collaborative practice and content peer coaching. Ensures access to a continuum of services so that students with disabilities have an opportunity to be educated with nondisabled peers to the maximum extent possible. Supports students’ access to the general education curriculum and grade level standards. Works collaboratively with the supervisor and others to implement professional learning communities and system, department and office initiatives.


    Team Leader positions are selected and renewed on a year-to-year basis.
     
    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

     
    • Provides peer coaching/other duties in compliance with the TABCO Master Agreement.
    • Ensures compliance with current assessment and service delivery of evidence based best practices as mandated by federal, state, local and system guidelines.
    • Collaborates with staff from the Department of Special Education (DSE) and other departments/offices to support related services in schools and improve student outcomes through interprofessional collaborative practice.
    • Provides and documents services such as attending teams, completing assessments and other services as assigned.
    • Assists with collecting and/or analyzing data to support the provision of related services and management of materials, equipment, and supplies.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
     


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education, Training and Experience:

     
    • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in physical therapy.
    • Five years of professional work experience is required, preferably in an educational setting.

    Licenses and Certificates:
    Possession of a current license issued by the Maryland Department of Health, Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

     
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Thorough knowledge of educationally based services to children/students ages 3-21, and their families. 
    • Thorough knowledge of evidence-based and best practices related to the field.
    • Demonstration of the ability to support the work of professionals providing related services to students in schools.
    • Demonstration of strong human relations, oral/written communication, and organizational skills.
    • Demonstration of ability to use current technology and software.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of ethical practices.

    PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    • The work of this class is generally performed both in school and office environments. 
    • Travel to schools throughout Baltimore County is required.
    • Work includes the operation of office equipment, computers, and assistive technology devices. Limited physical activities may be required.
       
    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
    • Persons in this position classification will be required to apply for a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number with the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) and enroll as a Maryland Medicaid Provider through the Maryland Department of Health’s Provider Revalidation and Enrollment Portal (ePREP).
    • Team Leader positions are selected and renewed on a year-to-year basis.

    GRADE:                 TABCO 10-month pay scale
     
    SALARY:               $63,490 - $119,522
     
    OTHER COMPENSATION: Position may be eligible for relocation bonus, extra duty activities pay, or other student activities pay as defined in the applicable Bargaining Unit Agreement. 

    FLSA:                     Exempt
     

    RETIREMENT:    Eligible for the Maryland State Retirement System.

    Pre-Employment Requirements:
    • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.  An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
    • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
    • If you have military experience, you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
    • Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via escript/clearinghouse from your university.
    • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
    • All newly hired personnel must attend a Benefits and Retirement Orientation meeting.
    • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
